Season 1, Episode 1
This is the second time Anthony Higgins appears in a TV series made by Lynda LaPlante but now it is a pilot episode.
This is a story of two detectives who work undercover for drug barons.
Lloyd St. John is the main leader of the two drug barons, who is, himself, an addict and whose habit will cause him to lose his health, his wife, his business and, at the end of the episode, his freedom. It's a dealer's law-a drug dealer can't be a drug taker, isn't it? So, Lloyd became blind to it and couldn't see the danger of this weakness to his business.
Anthony Higgins' build up in this role is excellent. Everything was thought out: from the cruelty of his character to details like a handkerchief in his sleeve, not in the pocket, shaky hands and beads of perspiration on his forehead, snivels and the lies of a drug addict; and, some victory of business and some defeated as a result of a well-done but shady deal. Everything was well acted. Some doubtful transitions from calm to anxiety are no obstacle to the actor.
Goof: In the first scene of Anthony's, the frames are reversed so that his left cheek shows as his right.
P.S.: In this production he looked ill but was very handsome.
