This is one of the most exciting of Lynda La Plante's crime drama screenplays. Wonderful plot, good acting. I like it very much.

Stephen Warrington (Richard E. Grant) and Karl Wilding (Anthony Higgins) have one common interest and a lot of out- of- the-common secrets. You don't know the truth until the end, but actually you don't trust anyone after the film©s ending either.

And what about Mr. Higgins' acting? I'm still puzzled a little. Well... I can't say it's excellent, and I can't say it's bad. I have just one question - at this time did he really work with this role as he always does? Is it possible to play a middle-aged man with a big problem and to show us that it is a thin line between an ephebophilia and a crime, between shamelessness and honesty? Yes, it is. But if Mr. Grant's personage is too nervous, Mr. Higgins' personage is too cold, in spite of tears and shouts and whispering. I don't believe him from the very first minute. And a strong will of this dark person is becoming visible only in the very last scene of the film and it makes very strange effect - you worry about the criminal, not about a victim. But as I said, I like this drama.
