The Shutter Falls
This film rarely shows on television, so find it on VHS was a real success.
The plot is a episode of life history of the fishing village of the late XIX century, in which "for the sketches" a successful young photographer arrived. Along the way with his work on landscapes and working people sketches, the main character starts a "holiday romance" with a local girl. From this love a daughter is born, but the photographer will never know about it, since leaving the village soon after completing his work. Half of the film is in Gaelic, but the plot doesn't loose anything of this because mostly it's a landscape film.
Anthony Higgins acts the main role. His character, Alexander Watson, is one-sided, but moving character. He perfectly played some scenes, and his swimming in the March ice water is likely to be remembered for long.
