Malice In Wonderland

Some years ago British director Simon Fellows decided to make a film about one strange night in the life of a girl named Alice, an adopted daughter of a millionaire. Alice becomes lost in a modern-day British Wonderland in the Northeast of England and it becomes apparent that her billionaire father had intended to marry her off to an equally wealthy German. However, her father does not pay much attention to her until she is missing. Misha Barton was invited to play Alice and the role of the White Rabbit was given to Danny Dyer. While a searching for financing during pre-production, Misha Barton was replaced by Maggie Grace (most recently seen in the television series "Lost" and the film "Taken" with Liam Neeson). When the film was completed, it was taken to the Cannes film market, where it was sold to several countries for hire. But the film did not go to the big screen and was immediately released on dvd. Although it was presented at two European film festivals, it went unnoticed by the festival press.

The movie, that is a parody to "Alice in Wonderland," has more disadvantages than advantages. Dull plot, lack of dynamics, frequent visual iterations, and an unharmonized acting team make the film rather boring. Anthony Higgins has a small part of an ex-executioner, Rex. This personage can speak a little, can stand or walk back and forth, and can raise a blooded ax. Why act when there is nothing to act?..
