In Love and War

Two wonderful novels "In Pursuit of Love"(1945) and "Love in a Cold Climate"(1949) by Nancy Mitford was filmed twice in last thirty years and tell a story of three aristocratic girls. The version of 1980 is still the best, but there does not appear to be an official DVD release.

Anthony Higgins has a small but very nice part of Juan, a Spaniard, who escaped with one of the heroines from the Continent in war to England and for the happiness of all the characters Juan was found to be a cook, a profession that was highly sought in this aristocratic family. The personage appears in the last episode and has some scenes in theatrical manner. The role was acted brilliantly.
